Brakes! Get underneath and look at the chassis...this is where the sins of neglect can be found whether its leaking brakes, power steering fluid, oil or differential fluid. A few years back, Corvette Magazine published this article describing what to look for by model year when buying a used Corvette.
Re M20 trany - are they a good thing or bad thing - - I had a ‘67 Saginaw in a TBucket years ago that gave me fits sometimes by getting stuck between gears.
