no directionals
of course going for an inspection tomorrow and i have no directionals and when i step on the brake left signal lights up on dash and left directional also, need help

Of course I'm not there to run some basic checks. but sounds like the switch inside your column is shot. power for your brake light go's from brake light switch. into column and through turn signal switch. plastic part that is now 40 years old. I would reschedule your appointment.

turn signals back on
Before i started taking things apart, check steering column and saw flashers were on, pulled it out everything working, except did not check to see if flashers were working. will find out later, hopefully pass inspection.
