Hi I ordered new window felts outer for my 68 convertible and already having old ones removed by painter can't see how to install without removing windows please help me out. Thanks Phil
"Potential ordeals," happen with regularity when working on an old car. Do the best you possibly can on each problem. The pain, scrapes, and cut fingers will be worth it. No feeling better than seeing the result of your work.

I am not sure if your window tracks are different, than on a 1979-80, but on those cars there are stops at the bottom of each track. To lower the window, loosen the stops and move them all the way down. The window can then be lowered, below the felts.
Correction I did not have to remove the glass on my 68 to install just outer feltsThe window would not lower enough to replace both inside and outer trim and felts to my satisfaction I also had issues with the new felts I purchased from C Pacific matching up to the original holes as well. I finally purchased the 69 outer felts from C Central and couldn’t be happier, unless it’s gonna be judged I would definitely go that way.

Hey there, Phil. If the border wasn't still closed I'd volunteer to come over and help you, neighbor.
The advice above -- loosening the stops then lowering the glass as far as it'll go -- should give you enough play to access the felts. Depending on the condition of the car, you might want to soak those short screws with PB Blaster for a couple nights before torquing on them. A few of mine stripped out pretty easily having rust fused to the door.
Are my 75 seats still sitting in that 68 or was that your last ride?
Your seats are soon to be installed its been a long rehab. I appreciate the offer to help and as far as the border goes its going to be a while yet the thing I miss most is the price of beer and rum on your side with my side double or triple depending on brand but that is minor compared to whats going on in the world. Oh and lastly I agree about pb blaster I learned about it on this site and love it. Hoping to be on the road in spring. Lastly border being closed has also affected the ability to access decently priced parts due to excess shipping and wait times. Phil
When things open up, Phil. We'll have to schedule a cruise. Maybe a run up to Grand Bend... one of the best beaches in North America. (Shh! It's a secret.) Good luck with your resto.
