Default C3 door shimming !? Help!

HEY GUYS,
i am trying too get my doors shimmed out properly too meet the front fenders with a smooth transition.

1} right now i have 4 shims per hing, and i am prob gonna need 1-2 more, that seems like alot?

2} when will door seal become a issue with wind noise because of a possible gap from bieng shimmed out so far?

3} is 4-6 shims normal?

4} the fender bond area is OEM and not modified or damaged from body work build up. [not thicker then normal]

5} can the door be shimmed on the door side instead of the pillar side? that would help with a large stack up on the pillar?

i can post pictures if need be....give me your thoughts guys! thanks troy

Use the $1 bill trick. After you shim the door to your satisfaction, put a $1 bill across the weatherstrip and close the door. If the bill can be slid up and down along the weatherstrip easily, you may get wind noise.
