air vents

Hi, my center air vent fins are busted and I wanted to replace them. I have the replacement parts, but i can not figure out how to remove the old vent. I have the center console out of car. Can anyone explain how to remove them?

WHAT year is it on my 70 it has 3 screws 1/4 in socket the whole plastic housing comes off then replace the old vents

I like Bobby70 quick answer for your question. It comes out as a section of the gauge cluster. Along with the wiper switch, and wire disconnect at the back.

Air vents

Sorry it is a 1975 Vette. There are 2 center vents in console, no screws. I realized that these were the same as early 70' chevelle. I figured how to get them out, but putting new ones in are a PIA.

I did mine yesterday on a 1970 with AC. For me it took 5 screws and about 45 min. Super simple. The center gauge cluster did not need to come out. The cast metal portion behind the wiper switch is easily removed. Then it is only the 3 1/4" screws mentioned above.
