Just had my 67 transported from Illinois to Louisiana by Reliable. Had to wait about a week for the move, but they are very
carful and the driver took special care when loading and unloading it. They also inspect the car
fully and inspect it again with you at delivery.

The only thing that scared me was watching them unload my cars from the top level in the trailer. The driver backed each car out, one at a time, of course, onto the elevator platform. No chocks on the platform to prevent him from backing off and falling ten feet to the ground. Driver knew what he was doing but I didn’t want to look.
Recently, I bought another car at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee. Mecum quoted me a significantly lower cost than Reliable, who was on site. I went with Mecum and their service was top notch too. Mecum actually subbed the move out to a local transporter. I don’t know if Mecum moves cars for private owners or not but might be worth a call. Heck, they’re moving all over anyway, so they likely have space on their trailers at some point.
Hope this helps
Don.

I tried calling Reliable first, then second, then third........never returned my calls
I was new to this and I was educated in a hurry. Unless you pay top price with a transporter who does not go through a broker, you'll be rolling the dice.
I started with Reliable which never returned my calls
I then called SGT transport, who is a broker. They subcontracted KBT transport. Long story short, two days in a row they left the person waiting for them hanging and they never showed up. I cancelled them and actually received a refund.
I then called Montway Transport. Another broker. They subcontracted Luxcar Transport. Long story short. The same person that contacted the person with the car while KBT was hired, contacted him while Luxcar was hired.
They eventually showed up, after requesting an additional $50.00 for being out of their way.
The following day after the car was picked up, I was contacted at 9:15 AM and told that he would be at my house within one hour. At 3:20 PM, Five hours after he was supposed to arrive, he showed up. The car arrived with damage to the front end and it was touched up with paint that was supplied by the seller incase I ever needed it. I nearly killed this Mo$%$FUc%$#.
I had also contacted another person that was referred in this forum and he declined. I contacted Horseless Carriage. Their price was twice as much as I paid but they said firmly. This is the price and we will be there tomorrow. Wish I would have gone with them. I'am sharing this so maybe others like myself, that have not done this before, will learn like I did.

I live close to Bethlehem and I hear good things about Horseless Carraige although they are expensive but have heard no claims or complaints about them so that has to be worth something.
Good luck with your search.
David

Uship is like a sub-broker to brokers. When you look at a car on ebay and you check to see how much it would cost to ship through uship, you'll get several quotes from different places. These places( brokers) put your travel in an auction type of site and wait for the lowest bidder. Be thankful that Reliable got back to you!! They never returned my calls. I had the same guy that stood up the guy I bought the car from, from SGT Transport, respond to him under Montway. Long story short. My car arrived damaged!! Wished I had the time to go get it myself.
