I am re-doing the interior on my 1980 and have an issue. I just reinstalled the lower center console and hooked everything up. Now the headlamps, interior courtesy lamps, radio, and lighter don't work. The automatic transmission will shift through the gears without the ignition on. The only wire I have leftover is a light green one with a single plug on the end. I am not sure where this goes because I don't remember removing it from anything. I have not tried to start the car yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and stay safe.
I believe the green wire with the plug is for the reverse lockout for the manual transmission. Check to see if you missed a ground wire and blew a fuse.

Will do and thanks for the quick response. I wish I had a 4 speed but it is an L-82 (no manuals in 1980). I was pretty sure I did not remove the green wire from anything.
Thanks again and stay safe.
It was a fuse. It must have blown when I hooked the cigarette lighter up. Should the transmission (automatic) shift lever move into gear when the car is off? It is locked when the car is running. I can't remember how it was before I started my project.
My '80 shifts into any gear when not running also. I'm not sure if it's supposed to or not. Anyone?
It's made that way, no shifter lock out. Earlier C3's had a shift lock out that required the key to be on before it could be shifted from park if auto or reverse for manual trans. It was operated by a cable from the trans to a lever on the lower part of the steering column.
