I converted my car work bay to all LED and now I am in the process of converting the other two bays to LED as well. When working under the lift I use the LED stand with two bright LED lights. I live up North where it gets cold in the garage in the winter and I also use Halogen lights in the winter to throw a little heat my way. If I had a heated garage I would throw those away and switch to 100% LED. I'm very happy with the results.

Now for some heat in the garage....

Yes David, the LED's are a great upgrade and I too use a couple stands with dual Halogen lights when working under the lift in the winter which just gives a little extra localized heat that is appreciated (But NOT, in the summertime...LOL). Also being up north, I'm hoping my wife offers to allow me the funds to have a mini split system installed in my garage like she did last year to allow my to complete the inside with insulation and wall and ceilings! I have a salmander space heater and a wall AC that helps throughout the year but a mini split would be nice for constant temp control.

I have 10, 4 foot LED’s on their way from Costco. Should be plenty of light for my 16’ X 20’ garage.
I also have a halogen light I was using during my home remodeling project.
It worked perfect until I leaned my back up against it.
It melted skin through my shirt and I now have a nice 2” perfectly round scar on my back.
My wife was impressed, she didn’t know I could move so fast and not a single four letter word flew from my mouth.

^^^^ Cool on the lights. Ouch on the halogen light burn! Impressed that not a bad word resulted. But............if it were me, that halogen light would be used for target practice!!!

Let’s just say it’s life ended quickly after but peacefully.
Hey OldCarBum, the lights in this link are the absolute best lights I've ever seen or used for garage lighting. They're very compact 4' strips, easy to install, you can run something like 4-6 of them in series off one outlet, gets rid of the florescent shop lights that take up much more room and don't give out nearly as much light, etc.
I'll try and take a picture of them in my garages (I've put them on both) but, with them on, they are so bright that it causes a phone camera to dim and you can't really tell what they're like. I've had them up for a year and they ROCK! Have fun, stay well. Paul
