5/8 Ball Valve
I'm replacing most of the cooling system components and took off the frozen 5/8ths Four Seasons shut off valve that I could pick up at Autozone. I don't care for this style and much rather prefer going the ball valve route. Searching around Amazon and ebay shows a lot of Chinese made stuff and I don't have the greatest of confidence in it. Did a search on the forum here and got a few leads but most are from many years ago and the valves have been discontinued. This is for a 74 350 short block to turn off the inlet to the heater core. Any guidance or leads would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I installed electrically operated valves on the heater inlet hose AND the heater return hose (vacuum valves will also work depending on the type of heater controls the car has).
When the heater is turned on both valves open to allow hot coolant into the heater core.
This saves me the trouble of opening/closing ball valves multiple times when the weather changes. (I didn't mind the effort the 1st year)
(I'm thinking two valves will eliminate any possibility of hot coolant from entering the heater core on hot summer days
).
