Are you having the car judged or a tendency towards being super-****? If so, toothbrushes, lots of towels, etc. If not, hose it off when grimy or to remove loose debris from horizontal surfaces and avoid water, mud, and dirt roads.
Buy a quick jack, lift or make a set of 20 foot long wood ramps you can drive it up on in your garage.
Spray the undercarriage with simple green then hose it or pressure wash the undercarriage.
If you are really ****, you can use an electric leaf blower to blow off any water that might spot .
While you are under there, check everything and grease any fittings.
Don’t ask how I know.
Will Simple green do any thing to frame paint on already, no dulling???
Ted
Simple Green is pretty mild as far as degreasers go, especially when diluted to instructions, so I'd think it's safe. You'd want to test though to make sure that whatever finishes were used on your car are unaffected. I think a better solution (no pun intended) is to use a garden sprayer with Dawn dish soap and water. More cost effective too.
Once a yr I put it on jackstands, use some hot soapy water (dawn), big car wash sponge and give it a quick wipe/rinse. Drive it to dry
Unless you have a had leak it will stay cleaner than you think. Lots of hosing..not a fan of getting more water inside the frame than I have to.
I've never had any issues with Simple Green dulling anything.
I've also used a mild dish soap with great results.
If you have hard water spots to remove, add a little white vinegar into your mix.
The whole idea behind using a pressure washer is that you do apply a lot less water.
If you have a clothes washing machine in your garage, hook your water line up to the hot water side and use hot water which cuts grease the best.
If you don't have a pressure washer, hook your garden hose to the hot water and use a good nozzle.
Just don't get caught running a hose through the house into the laundry room.
