I found that it: 1) significantly stiffened the ride as advertised and 2) made access to the rear a bit harder due to the crossbar that sits a bit lower than the rear deck lid. This combined with a spreader bar gave my 72 a very different in a good way ride. I think that I bought mine 12 - 15 yrs ago had him silver powder coat it.

In my other life I modified Jaguars both performance wise and aesthetically in ways that made the purists squirm. I was able to find a Miata roll bar that I made to fit with very little modification. I’m sure it provided little in functionality, but what it lacked in that regard was more than made up in looks. Cost was like $60 on ebay. Was just right for my XJ8. Might work for the Vette.
