I just need some advice and where to turn i would like a 1970,71,72, I found what seems to be one of those to good to be true. cars.trovit.com corvettes 1 1971 price 3300.dollars would you look at it and give guidance i'm 71 and I know all of what your going to say but still as one vetter to another vetter have you ever had any dealings with these people or know anyone that has this car is perfect for my needs and budget. To get swindled I just cant handled. Part of the deal is they deliver the car you inspect and then you send the money. Please just look at the add and give me you thoughts
Trovit is a Spanish vertical search engine for classifieds. Do you have a link for the actual listing of this 71 you're interested in? This ---> "Part of the deal is they deliver the car you inspect and then you send the money" makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
If it sounds to good to be true it is. No maybe about it. From one young guy (70) to another. Don’t know your plans for the car. Occaisional driver or park in the driveway to have something to do during our GOLDEN YEARS. Also don’t know your mechanical skills. $3000 for a car if you have time and money is ok. But otherwise you will be disappointed. You should also have someone there for the inspection that knows where the problem areas are like rust birdcage. Finally you need to verify tha t the car isn’t stolen. Nothing worse than handing over your hard earned cash then going to register the car only to find out it is stolen and will never be yours. Just make sure your eyes are open to all the possibilities when you look at it.
In my opinion, Trovit is not a reliable source and not worth using. You will see different ads of the same car, at different prices and different locations.
Internet has become a havent for rip off artists..
Try this-
Do a reverse image search on google. Enter the photos, if the car is listed anywhere else on the web youll see where.
You can also find the location/origin also;do searches on name, phone # etc.
Have someone help you if need be.
Many ads online who dont even own a car just a picture they put up there..asking for "hold deposits", stories about them being out of the area are all bs. If they cant speak on the phone its probably bs
If you post the link, one of the many world wide members here may assist or even look at it for you. All you have to do is ask
As said there is no way anyone is selling a 71 for that cheap. Even a later one unless its a stripped out hulk.
The photo of the abandoned one makes me sick. These cars cost as much as a Cadillac when new and I cannot believe how some people treated them. Most people would sell their first born to have a Corvette! Lou.
That site has my Camaro up for sale North Carolina... complete with the same description, mileage, and photos from the consignment house I bought it through in Michigan. And no, my car isn't for sale, lol !
