Probably not but new castings and probably not a performance issue just longer term corrosion if not maintained .. do you have delco cores? Does it matter to you?
i went here and had core..they were lone star
chances are not delco rebuilds..not made in USA even new..if it matters
What do you have on your car now? Have you opened them up to see if they have been sleeved? Are they Delco Moraine castings? A few pictures would help. if the calipers have been already sleeved, you can buy an O-ring kit for about $150 and rebuild all four wheels. Jerry
As has been said, those calipers are rebuilt generic (NAPA, Autozone, etc) aftermarket calipers, not original GM Delco castings. There usually isn't really anything wrong with generic castings, it's just that most Corvette owners prefer the correct appearance of the Delco castings.
If they have been rebuilt by Lonestar, there will be an "LS" stamped on the smooth machined top edge of the caliper, near one of the bosses for the pad pin, along with some numbers. If something other than LS is stamped on them, then they weren't rebuilt by Lonestar.
Lonestar usually tries to save the original Delco castings for Corvette parts vendors, and sends the rebuilt generic calipers to regular auto parts stores. It use to be that Lonestar would take any calipers in as cores, but lately they've been less willing, and periodically refuse, to take in generic calipers, as the supply of Delco cores dries up, and the market for generic calipers gets smaller.
I threw more money at my wifes car. On my 79, I have Delco castings, SS sleeved, O-ring seals. They are almost certainly made by Lonestar, but you can call Zip to confirm.
