Hey guys I purchased poly A arm bushings for my 78 restoration. I took the bushings and A arms to a shop to get pressed in. The shop damaged two of the bushings. I have to purchase another complete poly set just for two bushings. So should I continue to go with the poly or should I just go ahead and start over and use rubber bushings. What are some of your all experiences. I’d love your input.
I went rubber but i remember getting them off was the hard part...putting them on was the easy part? Even poly?
if i went poly i would be sure USA made and plenty grease...and rubber if you can find it..some have had luck recently rock auto
Doesn't matter to me what you do, but in the old days, the Corvette racer, John Greenwood tried urethane and rubber bushings. His test findings on the track were that it 'seemed' from the driver's seat like the poly bushings were faster, and they were definitely stiffer, but the track times didn't improve any and there was a higher incidence of failure (not significant) so he stuck with rubber. Course urethane formulations are probably better these days.
I definitely wouldn't take them back to the same shop.
Maybe you can buy what you need for replacements onsie-twosie off ebay.
