Hi All,
I'm in the process of restoring a 68 327 350 hp Convertible (pics below). Body is ready to go out for paint, but i am rebuilding the headlight assemblies first so that they the doors can be aligned by the shop doing the paint. The only part i cant seem to find is a rubber cap that sits on top of the adjustment screw (see pic below). Anyone know where to find them? Is it possible that these were not stock? Seems like there would be some rattling against if it's just metal on metal.
She is sitting on a second roller chassis that i found so that i can send her out to paint while i work on the original chassis.
Are you sure there is supposed to be a rubber bumper there. My 71’s have the same pieces, but never had rubber bumpers. The assembly manual doesn’t show bumpers, either.

I actually am not sure. They were just there when i pulled mine apart...but thats probably why i haven't been able to find them anywhere.
I have a '71 also and I just reinstalled my headlight assemblies after cleaning them up. Mine didn't have rubber stoppers. Just a metal, flat head screw with a stop nut on it.
FWIW
The rubber caps that go over (and the screw as well I believe) are the same as the ones on the hood latch bumpers
The 72 AIM only show the adjustment screw without the rubber bumper, I installed them anyway as the thud is better than the clank
