Hi all
so in looking into the sloppyness of my wiper door I found that the large left bracket is snapped in two. Is this repairable or should I replace it? If so new or used? I’m trying to keep the car somewhat correct with mostly original parts but wonder if a new setup will be a lot nicer and tighter. Anyone replaced or repaired theirs and if so please let me know what you did or used. Looks like a pressed together unit so repair may be out of the question anyway
thx!
I’ve seen used units for sale on eBay. Looks like Top Flight Automotive (formerly Corvette America) is offering a reproduction. I bought a refurbished unit from a vendor years ago, don’t recall who it was.
Note: The spring loaded sleeve which the actuator attaches to often seizes to the shaft. Very hard to free up. I’ve done it but took a lot of persuasion. It’s supposed to rotate against the spring when closed to add tension, keep the door tightly closed. It can be seized but go unnoticed.
I’ve found a few different places selling repro ones, I’m going to call around Monday to see who rebuilds them, and price the rebuild vs new repro unless anyone knows who does rebuild them
