'73 Engine Number Help, Please.
I am interested in a '73 454 car. I am curious about the engine numbers. The casting number is correct. However, the casting date is B 14 73. The assembly date is 0316- a month after the casting. The engine was installed in a late May build car. I have a pretty extensive library of midyear stamps and build dates but I do not have a lot of information on '73 454's. Does this seem normal? I do not see too many cars with engines installed a full two months after assembly. It is possible but I would like to hear from people who have had experience with '73s. The seller has known the car since new and is positive the car has the original engine. Thanks.
