Accelerator Pedal System: 69E to 69L
I have the early system with the lower rod and the upper silver stamped bracket that the cable routes through.
I'm having difficulty getting it tuned in with the new Holley Sniper system I installed. I can't seem to get fully pedal and WOT without deforming that flimsy upper bracket arm.
Plus, the plastic pivot bracket that I just replaced ($50!), looks like it's ready to crack the same way the old one did.
I'd really like to upgrade to the late 69 system with the full-length steel rod and the multi-piece pivot bracket system.
Problem is, I don't see a full illustration of all the parts needed. It looks like the plastic pivot bracket is sandwiched between a firewall reinforcement bracket, and another close-out bracket that gets screwed to the first bracket to sandwich the pivot rod into its groove. There also is another bracket in the sandwich that has an arm on it.
Corvette Central has this illustration but they only seem to offer the rod and the pivot bracket, not the other parts.
What else would I need? And does anyone carry the whole kit (and maybe the kaboodle)?
And would the pedal still be compatible with the new rod?

The "cover" bracket looks like it's got 2 types depending on transmission, but I did find (on eBay) the larger one with the upper arm (not for my transmission) but that arm can be cut off to result in the same square plate that acts as the top of the sandwich.
Is the firewall reinforcement bracket with the weld nuts already there from 1969? (the bracket forward of the firewall) Or is that new/different for 69L?
And then I think I just need longer bolts to sandwich the whole thing together (looks like 1/4-20 x 1 5/8" per the GM part number 9419011)

I've got my parts ordered and hope to upgrade this system.
I really hadn't considered how much "loss" I was getting from that flimsy upper arm on early 69's.
I thought I had it taken care of when I tightened the cinch nut that clamps the rod to the upper arm.
But now that I have the Sniper installed and I can monitor pedal/cable travel with the hand-held monitor which shows Throttle Position Sensor %, I see that the upper arm does some distorting when I mash the pedal to the floor, and I only achieve a max of 85% TPS, even with a tight cable at idle.
Looking forward to a more robust system so I can tune in the Sniper more accurately.
