Default C3 Weatherstrip Advice

I recently bought some t top weatherstrips for my 1978 from top flight/Corvette America and let me tell you they were absolute garbage. I got them on and lined up, made sure the pins went in, the seals were flush and the sides were adjusted and after all that they wouldn’t even fit on my car unless I pushed them down with everything I had. I understand a little resistance as they set in but this was insane. That said I want to redo them and want to buy something actually good quality this time, and any suggestions would be more than appreciated! I’ve heard debates on latex vs rubber and heard that CRC is one of the best, but before I spend the money again I thought I’d run it by here first.

I left my T-tops installed/in place for 2 months, as recommended by the auto body shop who applied the weatherstripping (done in the Fall, garaged but Seattle weather). Now when I reinstall it’s definitely “snug” but a good fit and no leaks. Only wanted to do this once.

A Willcox purchase for my ‘71 coupe

I did some more research and just purchased some from Corvette Rubber Company, which is what Willcox uses. They seem like the most recommended and my previous ones were latex I believe so rubber seems like the route to try next.

NOS late 77 - 82 T-top weatherstrips are available on a frequent basis for about $200 a set or less on ebay if you pay attention and snap them up quickly.
