Default Engine Fan

G'day All,
Just installed a march serpentine system on my '69 vert L46. I have not used a electric thermatic fan system, but used a counter rotating fan clutch and Derale clutch fan. There is only one problem with this fan, it makes my vette ROAR like a truck. So my question is, is this caused because the fan blades are evenly spaced as opposed to the orginal having different spacing for some blades? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards, Mark

When I could hear my engine (sidepipes now), the only under hood noise I ever heard was the air being sucked into the carb. Can you go back to the stock HD fan/clutch arrangement?

Unfortunately no, as the serpentine system runs the fan in counterclockwise rotation which is the opposte direction to the oem fan.
I was wondering about swaping the fan blades from the new fan centre mount to the original fan centre mount. Thoughts anybody?

Not the blade. It's the clutch. The original clutch was designed to freewheel more than the replacements. I have the same problem with a replacement clutch on my '79. The 'loose' original clutches are no longer available.

Thanks for the info drwet. Might try and find a used c4 fan clutch in good condition.
p.s. c4's use an electric fan system.....
