Ths thread will be to document some of the changes I’ll be making to my 1976. I wish I’d started the thread sooner; I started getting this car going over the Christmas holidays last year after it had been mostly sitting for 20 years. Just got out of paint jail on Friday.
Before, with trashed cheap paint job from a major national chain and the front bumper rotted off. After paint, Code 69 Brown with base coat & clear coat and a new fiberglass bumper.
Frame on. I love the car, but that would be $$$ right now to into a car that just would not worth that much...maybe I’ll do a frame off in another 15 years if I add another corvette to the stable to drive in the meantime.

Nath Specialty Coatings in Mansfield, TX. So far, just the normal expected bumps in the road getting major work done, but fantastic customer service. I’m supposed to bring it back to the, in a couple of weeks to touch up any defects I notice, but overall I’m pleased with how it looks.
Here was my today, swapping out the first seat. I’m not 100% on the shade of brown for the seats, it doesn’t exactly match the rest of the interior. Then again, the original seats didn’t either. I can always dye it later if it eats at me, but I’ll probably just get used to it.
and the rest of the interior, even the rug, to a certain extent, can be redyed to match the seats. is that new seat, or new upholstery on the same seat? and you don't sit on door panels, consoles, etc. so they hold their new color better than the seats would...

New seat covers and foam from Al Knoch, put on the old frames by a local upholsterer.
Another day, another challenge. The starter want dead in the driveway, so I had it replaced with something more advanced. Time will tell if the PM 9000 beats the OEM style for durability, but for now it sure does start easy!
I would suggest new carpet if you are pulling out the seats and are not happy with the old carpet. With that new paint and new seats justifies it. Just did mine and while it was time consuming glad I did it, gets rid of that old car smell!

Absolutely! Carpet is on the short list, but I've got a couple of other things in line first.
