Unknown ticking noise
Hello I’m having a problem with my 76 corvette. When I’m driving I noticed a ticking noise coming from the front it it’s only really noticeable when under acceleration. I put it in park and tried to see if I could hear it at idle and I tried giving it a bit of gas. but I didn’t hear it then. I’m thinking it could be a exhaust leak but I’m not smelling anything and it doesn’t go away after the car is warmed up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to find the noise or any idea on what it could be? Thanks in advanced.

I just fixed my 79 today. Was making a ticking, rattling sound underneath. Turned out to be the plate on the front of tranny had a bolt missing and another loose. Tightened it up and put in another bolt, problem solved. I thought it was an exhaust leak. Good luck!
