Default antenna mount

replacing the electric antenna with a rigid mount antenna. looking to use a "stubby" style antenna. any ideas or part numbers to use to save some time would be appreciated. 1980 Vette, auto , metallis brown , have owned it for two weeks and working out the kinks! The google and youtube havent been very helpful.

I went with a basic no name aftermarket antenna just to fill the hole from the removal of the original. I was able to slant the new shorty antenna back as I thought it looks better. I have an internal antenna for am/fm and xm reception as the external shorty is just a dummy.

My car is far from original so this works well for me. Sorry no part numbers.

My goal is to keep the original radio installed, am/fm only........I may check on the below listed Autozone power antenna . Its crazy just getting these newer bushings to be flush and the old antenna wire vs the new connections. I'll post a picture when i make a choice and get it mounted. Thanks.

How do you get in there to work on the antenna?

Well, if you want a useful "hole filler" you might consider a manually retractable antenna. I installed one of those, and while it works, it really is mostly a hole filler. Not even sure where I got it but I suspect at one of those Kragen type places because it's been decades. It actually works but I mostly use a USB flash drive for music.
Something to ponder since you want a "hole filler".

Not having mufflers helps. The cat on the 80 muffles the sound enough so you don't need the mufflers.
