The description for that pump on Rock's site says it does not include the back housing. I've never heard of a pump sold without that plate. Is the description correct?

I can't explain that. I ordered mine from RockAuto in 2018. Here it is painted and installed on the car. You can see the "back cover" installed, and nearly touching the timing belt cover.

Summit doesnt sell a corvette only pump either. I think you guys are thinking about the pulleys. You do need to pay attenetion to the alignment hole on the nose of the pump to make sure it fits the pulley
