Is there a bracket welded to frame on the driver side where a Z bar would attach? It looks like what remains of the boot for a clutch rod to the right and above where the steering column passes through, but the extra hole next to it and the odd shape of the hole for the steering column has me wondering.
The partial remains of the clutch rod boot would indicate a standard but the hole was there on the auto as well, just have a flat cover with 3 screws

This car looks like someone swapped a standard body onto an automatic chassis...no Z-bar bracket, bolt in transmission crossmember.
Here in Australia we call that a "Bitza". a bit of this and a bit of that.
Good thing it was cheap. but doesn't mean you can't turn it into a usable car.

Yep, not giving up on it just yet. Pics of the frame. Not too bad

first post i said don't eff with it. you bit my head off...
the frame looks pretty good. check the body mount bolts. see if they look like they been there for near 50 years. cuz some of the sheet metal work the bird cage sounds like it needs is easier with the body off. and check the vin tag on the windshield frame against the title they gave you...

Throw enough dead presidents at that and it will shine. Guys over in the C2 world will take a Z-Bar with Trim / VIN tag attached and turn that into a numbers matching BB car with full documentation.

Is the windshield tag attached to the "birdcage" itself or the dashboard?
If it's on the birdcage it is covered in butyl rubber and tar..all I have is the door plate so far.
Dash is MIA
The only thing I have done to it so far is lubed the doors' sub-assemblies, and gotten the steering column ready to reinstall for easier maneuvering.
