I look in through the wiper trough and i can see the blades on the heat-a/c fan. i do not see a deflector-door that can close that off. does recirc just add cabin air to the incoming fresh air? or am i missing something. 75 with later parts to do DIY VIR eliminator.

It should block off out side air completely , haven't had my Vette apart yet to see how it exactly works or researched it in the manual but every other car I have worked on in a America is that way
'Recirculate' just blocks off outside air and continuously circulates the same inside air....until it gets to a 'reasonable' temp inside. Then you move it over to 'normal' A/C to get a mix of fresh air and inside air. That is so you can continue to find oxygen in the cabin....

ok. i see it now. i was looking at the back of the flapper, not the side of the box. actually, though, we can check our fan squirrel cage for squirrel nests without doing anything more than opening the hood.
how does recirc work on a/c?
