Default ‘77 Door Alignment - Help Needed

Trying to realign this drivers door but it doesn’t seem to close all the way. In latched position it still kicks out about 3/8”. I can push the door in further to where it needs to be flush but the seal just kicks it back out to latched position when I let go.

I have the striker bias all the way up and inboard to pull the door in. I also have 5-6 shims for each hinge in the front which looks ok (flushness) when the door is closed.

Am I missing something?

did you puit a new seal? if it is too hard to push the door into the catch something is binding
on my door there are 2 latch postions.
the one youre describing is the first click, the door grabs but moves 1/2 inch. the second click is fully shut and doesnt move.
maybe lowering the catch and maybe out a little will allow the 2nd if it is too hard to push the door into the catch
If its too hard to get to the 2nd click id try to find the issue first, youll need to press the door just as hard to release pressure on the latch to open.

That was it! Moved the striker outboard instead of inboard to catch the second (main) latch.

Thanks for the help!
