I just checked out those shims - what OD were the ones you used ??
All I see LISTED are shims that are ONLY 1/4" LARGER ON OD then the ID - that sounds awfully small !
So a 1/2" ID shim is ONLY 3/4" OUTSIDE DIAMETER - exactly 1/8" wide ?
That seems way to small for the clamping load and stress that it will be subject to
I could see the concern if you were using grade 8 washers for shim stock, but a couple thousandths shim won’t put any stress on a part the size, thickness and weight of a brake rotor.
I measured several different beer cans after I posted questions in a thread and found they were all too thick to make the shims I needed.
Maybe I just drink better quality beer.🍻

I just used my buddies Michelob Ultra can for a shim on my Camry, best use for that beer by far!!!!! yuch...
Go to an old school print shop and see if they have any Photo Offset sheets laying around, very thin aluminum, very thin and easy to work with,,,,,
