Default Shoulder belts

I am wanting to add shoulder belts to my very early 69 convertible. They do pop up here in the parts section from time to time. My question is, Are shoulder belts for t-top cars the same as convertible cars?
Thank You

Yes, get the shoulder harness for a 69 coupe. Pull back the carpet and you should have the brackets there at least they are there on my 72 convertible and I am adding them.

Bought some sad looking shoulder belts, wrong color, on ebay. Came back from Ssnake-Oyl looking like new in the correct color. Same with the hold down straps for the T-Tops.

If you are not a stickler for originality, ‘93-‘98 Camaro rear seat belts are a virtual bolt-in.

No, I really don't care about originality. I just want something that will work. I want to be able to drive around with my 4 year old grandson and my daughter is concerned about the car only having lap belts. So the REAR seat belt from a 93-98 Camaro? I will look into that.

Thank You!

I added some to my 68 vert and I bought ones that are vertical hung versus the hoirzontal hung ones. I got mine for a 71 so they are detachable at the seat buckle but arent retractable since the 68 retractor was short and underr the seat.....I remember it was a hassle so I went with the non-retractors and extensions

Did you locate the hole under your carpet for the anchor bolt?

What do you all think of these? Kind of a compromise between original looking, safety and economy.

3 pt seat belts

I was thinking of getting these for my 69 'vert since it did not come with a shoulder belt.

Correct. Rear seat belts from ‘93-‘98 Camaro. Make sure you get the matching “receptacle” side, the Camaro belts won’t latch to your Vette receptacles.

Keep in mind the 68/69 mounts on the side above the wheel well and the 70 mounts on top of the wheel well.

This messes with the locking mechanism.

Correct. Some folks have made an L-shaped bracket to move the mounting point on top of the wheel well for proper orientation of the Camaro belts.

I tried to feel around and couldn't find any mounting holes. So I also looked outside in the rear wheelwell and found 2 plastic plugs side by side on each side of the car directly above the frame. Is this what I am looking for?

Pull the plugs and those are threaded holes for the seat belt.

Don't convertible belts go through the seats and hard top belts attach with a dog bone behind the B pillar?

I just had three sets of C3 lap and shoulder belts restored by Charlie Santorelli. Outstanding quaility!

I installed these in my '69 3 years ago.
They convert your lap/shoulder separated belts into a modern 3-point system with the sliding tang side.
Eliminates the key-hole plate, and keeps the lap belt off the floor when not in use.
They bolted right in place with the existing anchors and work well for retraction.
There should be an anchor on the outer side of the wheel well, same part (I think) as the seat floor anchors. If this is missing, do NOT bolt the retractors to only the fiberglass. You can get new anchors to rivet in place for peanuts.
