Engine block ID
I just had my 79 delivered and it's a beautiful car. I was hoping you guy could help me decipher the block stampings. I've figured out that the last 5 are the VIN so I know it's the original engine and the ZBA indicates it's an L82 but I'm not sure what the rest of them indicate. So, there are two lines of letters and numbers like so. ..

ZBA was the L-82 with 4 speed for 1979. V is the code for the Flint, Michigan engine assembly plant. 1025 (October 25th) is the date the engine was assembled at Flint. The second number is your VIN derivative. Your 5 is actually an alpha S.
