Eric-
I believe a 75 is an electric tach not mechanical.
Verify that and it might just be your tach filter. You can make one cheap(if you can solder & use heat shrink) or pay too much for a prebuilt unit.

My tach works, however, it is very jumpy. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks for your help.
Eric
Hi Eric,
Had similar jumpy tach. In my case the cable routing required a change to eliminate hard bends. Additionally I lubricated with some graphite. Also might check to see if it is screwed tight at the distributor. Good luck
