Default Running lights diagram 1978

On my 78, I do not have functioning running lights. They did work prior to replacing the headlight switch and I could have sworn I checked everything after I changed the switch. I assume the power runs through the fuse first before going up to the switch? The connector was pretty corroded and I had to remove a couple of the terminals from the connector body so I could clean them. I finally have the car to a point where I can actually drive it and enjoy it, now this. Headlights, turn signals and brake lights all work as do interior lights and dash/gauge lights.. There is also power on both ends of the running lights fuse in the fuse panel.Very frustrated. Already had the dash apart once, I can forsee that happening again, although to a lesser extent.

You can see in the diagram that the front marker lights require current flow in both directions.

If you or a previous owner have converted all bulbs to LEDs, that may be your problem, though it is more typical to see the issue with the turn signals.

I found the issue tonight and having the schematic from papawana definitely helped! Long story short, one of the terminals in the headlight switch connector wasn't making good contact. Problem fixed and cluster is back in. I'm getting pretty good at removing and reinstalling the cluster, LOL. This forum and its members are FANTASTIC!

And thanks for updating with the resolution!
