Default Can anyone identify this distributor?

I cannot find any discernable markings other than what you see in the pics below on top of the distributor. I am guessing this is a Hunan Special from EvilBay but thought I would ask the experts.

Have you removed the cap and checked for any markings?

Looks like an Accel HEI with the Accel in-cap "super coil" (minus the sticker)

I'm wondering...Is that a Resistor Wire that is connected to the + Plus terminal on the coil cap? If so, the coil + needs a new copper-stand wire connected to it.
Wait to see what other members think about it.

Unfortunately it could also be a Speedmaster/Procomp https://www.jegs.com/i/Speedmaster/7....1030/10002/-1

In addition to the above questions and suggestions, why is the VA plugged?

The pic of the coil pack on the Speedmaster/Procomp 6000 has P1405 15 stamped across the ridge of the coil pack. Mine has no markings at all. I am wondering, as originally suspected that this is a copy of a copy of a copy...At a minimum, since the Speedmaster/Procomp 6000 looks to be a copy of the Accel and missing the sticker on the cap, it could be that. However, missing any label/stamps from the coil as well really makes me wonder.

Based simply upon the price of the Accel or Speedmaster/Procomp of ~$85 versus that of an MSD Pro Billet ~$350 which is suggested by many on this forum it would seem that whatever I have is likely a pretty inferior piece of equipment, yes?

Doorgunner - I am not sure that I am following you. What are you seeing in the pic and what is it that I should be looking for?

Below is my ignition system wish list that I have put together based upon recommendations from the Forum. Pretty pricey for sure but it seems like this is really good set up. Anyone have any thoughts?

All the grey Accel super coils I've had and the one that I currently have is sealed and not a cap. Never had one of their red coils tho But you could send a pic to Accel and ask them to be sure. I'd bet it's a copy sorta but mostly likely these days Accel is made in the same place in china. They are part of the Holley conglomeration(MSD and Mallory as well) these days I think, they also just went public(stocks) so gonna see more profit based cuts.

The prior owner of my 73 replaced the original points distributor with one of the cheap China knock off HEI’s.
I wasn’t able to find a cap and rotor for it and I figured, no big deal because I would be replacing the unit with all new MSD when I swap the engine.
Five years later and the cheap China knock off is still working fine.

I purchased one of the $49.95 Chinese knock offs 2 years ago on fleabay and after the module quitting with 2 hours of run time, it's still going strong. Workmanship appears to be excellent with the housing being a CNC machined product. End play was within limits and the shaft seemed to be tight.
