Use a voltmeter to see if you have 12 volts or more at the starter where the Positive cable from the battery connects.
Also check the BAT Positive connection on the back of the Alternator for 12 volts or more.
There is also a Fusible Link in the harness that goes from the starter along the firewall...it could be melted/bad?
Let us know what you discover.

Follow the negative cable from the battery, through the battery box, and under the car. Make sure the ground is well connected to the frame and not corroded. After that, look under the dash for the fuse box, make sure everything is plugged in. Occasionally my 79 will have no power when I turn the key. There is a grey plug-in with an orange wire that sometimes works itself loose. I push that in and it starts right up.

Possibly the starter extension harness. (1980 L82 linked, works the same, connects the same, costs the same, and has an extra circuit that you can use or not).

Here's what mine looked like before I replaced it with the part from Zip. The fusable links had burned their insulation, but hadn't failed yet.

Zip corvette. I trust their parts. I decided to replace my tank for no other reason than it’s old. Original tank sits in a box in the garage. Bought my tank at zip. It is made is Canada.
