hello having trouble finding heavy duty rear end parts to beef up my axle diff . seems there's plenty for up to 79 but not for 80 to 82 . looking to make high hp build on my 82
That is the best option. The iron diff's are a lot better then the 80-82's odd ball diff's. Now building a diff to hold together involves a lot more then just bolting parts together. The build type depends on how much power you have, trans, traction, and most importantly usage. You can have 350hp and break everything inside either diff or 600 hp and have it hold up.
I suggest you do a lot of homework on parts and builds, learn what is needed, know who the con men are offering fake builds or overpriced common builds, see what you have for tooling, machines, measuring tools, etc. If you have the tools, time, place to work and experience you can build an iron diff to hold up to 900hp or so. I think the most power thrown at one of mine was 900hp at the wheels but I never saw a dyno sheet to confirm that and it's been a while.
