How do you make the seat go all the way back? After 12 years, I’ve finally gotten to the point where I may fix this. The driver goes all the way back to the plastic tab on the lid. This is as far back as the passenger goes. Is it the last he bolts at the base of the seat?
In theory there should be spacers under the bolts as well as under the center plate that holds the latch-strap.
If the two stop bolts were just screwed out to tip the seat and the strap wasn't also lifted it wouldn't latch to hold the seat from folding.
Also, if they didn't use the spacers and someone really pushed on the seat back it could/would snap the spot welded nuts off the bottom of the seat frames that the two adjustment bolts thread down into (ask me how I know that....)

Was there a similar plastic tab on the lid of a 69, or is that a 72 only thing?

Great explanation, Mooser. Glad I asked this. I’m going to check into this this weekend and see if I had get it to go all the way back.
