Interesting 1968 Headlight Buckets
Got my chuckle of the day when I saw this ad. Are they melted from when the engine caught fire, stolen from an Opel GT or homemade out of plywood? The rest of the car looks even worse and is offered for only $23.5K.
I used to be the Pres of the Opel GT club of NE. So, I know those 'mini-Corvettes' implicitly. (had 7 of them!)
Funnily enough BOTH the cars developments were done by the same guys BTW (Henry Haga /David Holls) originally used OPEL GT rotating headlights in some of the initial styling bucks. I've got some pictures somewhere to prove it!
These were not used because the centerline of the bulbs...as required by DOT were below the required height.
Hence the 'pop-ups' The rotating lights WERE used in the Banshee...Ponchos 'competitor to the Vette.'

He probably gave up looking for 68 headlight covers.....another one year only deal. Most are smaller than the other years andethe light bucket ssembly are small too. Anyone with a 68 would have experienced the headlight surround cracking when you tighten it to close the gaps
The color doesnt even look close, Marlboro maroon and red....

If one goes to the Autotrader Classic site and searched for a 1968 out west near LA, one might see a red one like this.... "A well-priced Amercina classic that is mechanically sound."
