Hi all, I was trying to install my left kick panel, when I noticed the headlight dimmer switch didn't work when the kick panel is installed. In my set up the dimmer switch is under a black plastic flap that is rivetted to the floor and hinged at the bottom. The flap I guess is supposed to be under the carpet. But when the kick panel is in the carpet is pushed down, and I think this flap can't move.
Is this flap thing supposed to be there? When I looked up dimmer switch and related on the various parts websites, they show a grommet that allows the dimmer switch button to go through the carpet (see last pic).
Your dimmer set up is correct for 68. The dimmer switch is under the carpet and did not use a grommet. If your kick panel installation interferes, you may need to trim the carpet around the kick panel.
