Default Starter wiring help

I'm trying to get my ammeter to work on my 75. I suspect that the fusible link is bad. But as I looked at the wiring diagram, I realized that the colors at my starter don't match the diagram. Any ideas?

Looks like [faded] purple and red wires to me. The fusible link in the red wire is 'fried'. Replace it with a REAL fusible link (non-flammable insulation and phenolic insulator on each end). There is a purpose for the fusible links in those areas. It is to save your wiring and prevent fires due to dead-shorts. Those are not good locations for fuses or circuit breakers. Fusible links should NEVER fail, except in extreme circumstances [usually with an owner is working on the starter without disconnecting the battery ].

It makes sense, I had the ground wire come loose and fried the ground wire at the alternator. So I assumed one of the links went. Any idea what Guage link I should get?

First off I see (2) fusible links connected to the battery lug of the starter solenoid, you might want to investigate what that 2nd one if feeding.
Using the Willcox Corvette line diagram the large #10 Red wire is connected to a #14 fusible link at the starter solenoid battery lug.
On the line diagram there looks to be (2) other fusible links near the forward lamp harness bulkhead connector.
Circuit 106 is one side of your amp gauge.
Circuit 106 jumpers around through a #20 fusible link to Circuit 2F.
Circuit 2F starts at the 2 wire white connector at the alternator and is labeled 2C
