Power Window Circuit Breaker Question
I want to start out by thanking you and Willcox Corvette for all your forum support on electrical as well as the electric headlight kit I got from you.
I’m to the stage of wiring my last relay/fuse box and this one has my Power Door Locks, ZZ6 EFI ECM and Power Windows and I have a question about your (and @Willcox Corvette) modified power window schematic using relays to lower the current through the window switches (brilliant).
I noticed that you have removed the “Circuit Breaker” from the power window circuit and only fuse the relay high current leads? I was led to believe that circuit breakers were for when the window is at the end of the travel either up or down, it will circuit break? as well as if the window is ice stuck or just stuck. Am I mislead? Did you actually feed the relays (high current side) with a circuit breaker?
Thank you,
Richard

You are welcome-
Yes- a circuit breaker would be the best for power windows. I had just sort of labeled the diagram "fused"
GM ran the wires all over the car to get to the power windows-
Optimum would be run the power from to the battery and have a auto reset circuit breaker there.
And the windows still would only work with the ignition on.
I probably ought to update it- Good catch!
Richard
This third and final relay/fuse box is in the centre console next to the battery.
I will use the circuit breaker from an original 1979 fuse box (I installed in my 71 for all ATC fuses). This later circuit breaker fits in an ATC fuse holder in my relay/fuse box and it will feed the four relays for the power windows.
Thanks a bunch!
Cheers,
Richard
