Hi everyone. The 1968 AIM says that the wiper switch bezel is part #6483329. That's the number that is cast onto the back of mine. However, I have two extra screw holes on mine, that I can't find a matching place in the dash to attach them. The AIM does not show these holes. Does anyone have an idea where these screws are supposed to attach?
I'm included the page from the AIM below, as well as a picture of my bezel, with the two holes in question circled in white.
This bezel had another weird hole in it that I filled when I restored it. It was a rectangular hole, about 1/4" x 1/8", to the left of "CORVETTE". It had a little left-right slide switch mounted through the hole. I never figured out what that was for because all there was was the switch, but I figured it may have had something to do with an alarm system that was installed at some point back in the day. That hole, as well as these two screw holes, were very professionally done if not done at the factory.
Anyone have any thoughts on why these changes were made?

theres a heater vent that is about 3/8ths inch tall and as wide as that rectangle gap. It should have one hole in the center of it that a screw goes through into a blind nut that is attached to the vent tubing.
edit...ya mines an early model

I just double checked and my vent tube does have the two holes in it, but I had changed my plate and it only has one hole, so my vent is loose. Had to check, getting old in the memory department. Lou.
