As title has stated I am getting a slight spark when reconnecting the negative battery terminal in my 1970 corvette. I have checked the ohms between the two cables and am getting close to a zero reading. Has anybody had a similar experience and was able to fix it?
The spark reconnecting is strong enough that it started to slightly melt the terminal.
If you still have the Borg clock in your gauge cluster, the first electrical action would be the solenoid in the clock being charged with 'juice' and winding the clock mechanism. Next time you connect the battery, you should get a little spark. Immediately disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. If the spark was due to clock winding, you will NOT get a spark the second time you connect it (clock stays wound for about 2 minutes).
Just a guess- you probably had the door open- so the courtesy lights came on-they pull several amps
You really need to check the amps- in a series - current draw
Here's how to measure-
Do the left configuration first- ONLY use the right side configuration after you have determined the draw is lower than 200mA...otherwise you'll blow a fuse.
A picture is worth a thousand words...even more if you are a slow typer!!!

I went ahead and tested this with my multimeter and first measure 1.6 ADC. Doors were all closed.
The readings then went to 0.0 ADC after a while.
i attached how I measured the urrent draw and video of sparking.
