It will physically fit but the connections and venting will be different.

Also Custom Mustangs lists it as a GM33F tank under specifications which Gastanks lists as 20 gallons not 24. There also is a late and early 69 tank. So you should figure out which tank you need at Gastanks, GMxxx, and then buy it from Custom Mustangs.

Thanks for your input MelWiff, yes is actually the same size as the std fuel tank for my '69 according to the dimensions shown on GasTanks.com. Oh well so much for that, thought I had found a larger capacity tank.

I even thought about making an extended width tank, plenty of room between the back wall and the tank, but never pursued the idea any further.

Hi riverracer, that's what started me thinking actually, there was a red '80 or '81 on carsales that had a drop tank installed. I tried contacting the seller, but got no reply, it looked brilliant.
