Hi all sorry to ask this but I’m at wits end. Car is a 69 coupe 4 speed with a borg Warner T-10 transmission. Previous hack never installed reverse lights which I am trying to do. I have the bracket for a late model c3 installed and the switch but for whatever reason the late model reverse switch rod appears to be just ever so slightly too short. I have an early model rod which appears way too long. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting very angry. I’ve attached some pics. Thanks. For clarification the hole in the reverse switch is towards the back of the car.

Thanks for the reply I looked again after supper and i can get the lights on no problem, the issue is getting them off. When the linkage kicks forward it stops just short of where the switch cuts off and I’ve tried to play with the screws on the switch and the rod every way I see possible and I’m still coming up just short. I’m literally like maybe 1/8” of rotation short of them working correctly.
If the transmission is not OEM the linkage may not be the correct length. You can adjust the switch with an ohm meter so that the switch makes contact when you shift to reverse. You may have the switch adjusted to far towards the rear of the car, and that’s why the back up lights stay on. Google C3 Corvette back up lights for a step-by-step tutorial.
