I just think it's amazing you kept that all these years. And maybe one day you might get around to paying the fine!

DG - truer than you know!
As first dates go, it was different, LOL. We met in our second college go-round, and we were both struggling; I in Calculus, she in Physics. "I've an idea, I've a friend who's doing his PhD in Materials, and I bet we can get some tutoring aid from him..." And we did. And then I brought her back to her Beacon Hill appartment where we talked for quite a bit, LOL, and it was a work night.

Took three years to get to this point, so something good happened after 3:45!

Well ya know it was a long time ago... but, from recollection - on the Turnpike 'extension' (Boston to Rt 128 (for natives) or Rt 95 (for the rest) max 120, from 128 (the alterrnator belt broke while approaching the tollbooth) to a bit past the westbound rest area in Framingham, 90 ish tops. After that, I behaved, LOL. Now, to be very clear, I did not pass slower vehicles with a 60+ mph delta. At 3:30 in the morning traffic was light. I always slowed and used my directional when changing lanes and passing. And that, boys and girls, was one of the reasons why a stop that started "WHAT ARE YOU, SOME KIND OF NUT!!!! - don't you know it's cold out." (top down, as per usual) Earned me a mere warning.

Boy does that sound familiar! I was divorced for almost ten years and a friend at work fixed me up with his next door neighbor. We went for a ride in my 68 Corvette and went back to her house and we talked, LOL, until 4:30 in the morning. At work, with a thousand employees at our automotive parts plant, you had telephone, telegraph or tell Kenny, her next door neighbor! Linda said you have got to leave before Kenny gets up to go to work or the whole plant will know about it!
I had to go home, make my bag lunch and change into my maintenance clothes and leave for work. I started at 6:00 AM. By the way, she was going to court that morning trying to get divorced from her worse half that ALSO worked at MTD with me and his father!
We have been married for 35 years now and I am a year older than you. Lou.

nothing good happens at 3;45 in the morning. UNLESS you are with a woman and there is not another woman wondering where the hell you are! then very good things have a chance to happen. every single serious relationship i had, i got lucky on the first date. if they want you bad enough to not say "take me home now" there is a good chance you get to wake up to that view for the foreseeable future... you still have the ticket and the wife. still have the same vette?

This is a great story!

Do you have someone close, who knows the story of the car, that you can pass it down to?

I haven't a picture to prove it, but she has driven it. I need to put blocks on the pedals and raise the seat to make it 'fit'.

I stopped a married couple in a C3 going through Apple Valley CA one morning at about 03:00 am.
They were traveling well over the speed limit so I pulled them over.
When I approached the car the t tops were off and they were both naked.
They were slightly embarrassed (at least the husband was) and told me their kids were staying at grandmas and it just seemed like a fun thing to do at the time.
No citation or warning was issued, and I just told them to have a nice day.
