My speedo cable to my Muncie M21 has a slight leak that tuns down the cable. I took it off the other day to check it out and I cant seem to find where an O-ring would go. I cleaned it all up nicely and put it back on but it still leaks. Should there be an o-ring and if so, where does it go?
There is an external "O" ring and a internal cup seal.
I replaced the internal seal and still had a occasional drip.
Turns out the speedometer gear shaft had worn the the inside of the housing just enough to create a slight shaft wobble.
Replaced the complete assembly no more drip.

Good luck....Ive always had a leak of some sort but Ive stopped the output shaft leaks, the rear main leaks, the oil pan leaks, the power steering leaks, distributor base leak, brake caliper leaks but the valve covers always seem to leak...IM sure when I stop that one of the others will start again....
