Tomorrow 11/15 is my ‘72’s 50th Birthday. Built
on 11/15/71. All stock, 61,000 miles.
As a little birthday present for the car, I made it a Mini- Me.
I bought the Maisto 1/24 die cast which is actually a ‘70 in a copper color and painted it to match. I had to fabricate the T Tops from aluminum sheet. Also applied matching Cooper Cobra decals to the tires. And a straight pin for the antenna. I think it’s a pretty good match.
Congratulations! Such a beautiful car!
Our cars were "born" three weeks apart (mine on Oct.26th 1971) and have similar mileage (mine at 59k). So awesome to see them both hitting the big 5-0 still being driven and loved.
The "mini-me" is a great little tribute! Now you've got me thinking . . .
No change to the hood. Its the base hood. It was the cheapy $20 model. Had open T tops and it looked all wrong because of the way the trim was too thick. The T tops covered that and it looks good now.
