I learned an expensive lesson recently. I purchased a hard to find NOS part for my 72 from an individual I have dealt with for several years and he shipped it by FedEx. I elected not to get the insurance as I have never had a lost package in 45 years. 1 month later the part is still MIA and FedEx has no idea what happened to it. The seller filed a claim with FedEx and they will only pay $100.00 since there was no insurance. I am out over $700.00 on the deal. Hopefully everyone else on here is smarter than me!
Dan,
I just Googled it and they were dumped in Alabama. I Had a compressor stolen about 30 miles from me. The owner set up the shipping. No insurance, and a restored vintage comp to his vette was gone. Yes, there was a empty box. First it was damaged, then next day there was only a box!

Dom
Thanks Dom! It’s a long shot but maybe it will turn up someday.
Even if you put insurance on it, they will make you prove the value. You can put $1000 of insurance on an item and if they say it's worth $500,, that's all you get.
