Try the C3 section. I would hazard$12K- $15K if it needs paint. Does the engine compartment look like dirty crap, or is it NCRS spotless? Stuff like that makes a difference

If this is a base motor/automatic, I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of repainting it would be about half of what the car is currently worth.

Good year with original paint? That seems like it would be worth north of 20k. Don’t paint it though,

One question: Big block or small... Here's what Hagerty says...
A base '71 SB roadster in #4 fair condition $16,300. #3 good condition $28,600. #2 excellent $52,700.
A BB LS5 in #4 fair $22,400. A #3 good $30k. #2 excellent $62,400.
If it's a LT1 or LS6...open the flood gates!...
Subtract 8% for the auto. But add $2500 for P/S. Hope this helps...

Never mind the slush box vs 4 spd conundrum... appx 75% of all C-3 sold are automatics. So 4spds only have a premium of $1000.

Your 1st order force is; Paint and body. DEDUCT $12,000- $15,000 for bad paint bodywork etc. The car has to be stripped down to glass, and re-built.

The older cars are Lacquer,... so changing lacquer to enamel (urethane) requires a lot of extra steps.

So basically, my rule for buying C-3's is NEVER buy a C-3 with bad paint..(unless it's super cheap) Paint and body can DOUBLE your cash outlay into the car. (let alone taking 6months to get your car back!)

I have a local friend who has a Black 68 tri-power...he just paid $50,000 to have the body done over to show quality standards. Took 9 months!

Good luck!

"typical rivet on nose issues and a touch of windshield frame rust"

It's all going to come down to this sentence.
The nose rivet issue is not really "typical" unless the car lives in the rust belt and it looks like this one is in New York. The front support has rusted badly enough to deform the rivets and force them to bulge the fiberglass. This is not an easy or inexpensive repair. Couple that with the "windshield frame rust" and I'd hazard a guess you're going to find cage rust problems as well. I hate to sound defeatist but from the limited info offered, I'd view this car as a typical eastern rust bucket that needs extensive restoration.

"Typical nose rivet issue" has very little to do with rust, and a lot to do with "dissimilar metals". Ask any electrician what that means. This is why you don`t put copper & aluminum wires together without special fasteners.
Windshield frame rust can be fixed, but I do agree..... the main thing is to see how far it got. It starts at the upper windshield frame, and moves down from there. Check body mount locations and frame really good.

$50,000 - geez you wouldn't even want to drive it for fear of a chip or scratch. Neighbor once put $20,000 into painting his Shelby then said it was too nice to drive. Kinda ruined it for him.

Needs paint, needs body work on the nose for the rivets....WINDSHIELD RUST!!!. I bought mine for $19k 5 years ago and it was a converrtible with very good paint and no need of body work. Its now worth about $30 k by the insurance estimates... So I would take off half for what yours needs in paint and 20% more for the body work involved with fixing a rotten windshield and possibly the birdcage. It maybe a basketcase if the rot is really bad so I wouuld investigate the windshield rot more or just price it for $10k and get rid of it. Let it be someones daily driver or let them invest alot more than it will be worth to fix it. Sorry but rust is a killer for these cars since the fiberglass is glued on and not bolted on like an all steel car

any good paint job is 15k to 20k if it is a base motor 10k that’s all it’s worth.

I would paint the alternator bracket black, install decals on the air cleaner lid and housing, look for a chrome distributor cover, etc.
Looks nice. I second the vintage guitars.
