Where could I find a color coded wiring diagram for the dash of a 1976 coupe? Trying to firure out the grounds for a gas gauge that constantly register full. Thanks.
At your fuel gauge there is a tan ohms wire and a pink ignition wire, there isn't a ground wire at the fuel gauge itself.
Your problem is at the sending unit or ground feeding sending unit.
If your rear lights and side marker lights are working OK, the frame to ground connection point is good.
The ground wire eyelet in photo below is the starting ground point for rear lights & sending unit. At Antenna Ground Strap Left Rear.
There is a 2 wire rubber connector from the rear body harness to the fuel sending unit strapped to the Vapor Hose.
Both the Tan ohms wire and Black ground wire go through an opening in the tank shield cover then across the top of the tank to the sending unit.
There is a single ground Lug on the sending unit itself.
